Join artist and printmaker Georgie Fay for an afternoon of monoprinting in the Glasshouses at the Hugo Burge Foundation with a portable printmaking press. We will begin with some monodrawing warm up activities inspired by our surroundings and then use stencils, objects and ink to create our own layered prints. Georgie will lead demonstrations in various monoprinting techniques which she will then support each student to use the printmaking press and develop their own ideas into a series of experimental responses.

Please wear clothes that you don't mind getting messy and a sketchbook and images of ideas and inspiration. All materials and inks will be provided!

This course is suitable for all levels and abilities. It is perfect for artists in need of inspiration, creative explorers and curious beginners who want to try something new!

Time: 1:30 to 4:30 PM

About the Facilitator:

Georgie Fay is an artist and creative facilitator. She runs participatory workshops and activities responding to her practice with various participants, young and old. Fay is currently interested in developing projects in which nature, science and art collide. She is keen to use nature and the way in which humans process the natural world, attempting to make sense of it through scientific and artistic means as a starting point to create a series of heavily processed prints and etchings.
