Textile Workshop and Studio Sharing with Eleanor Mills

Join textile artist Eleanor Mills for an informal demonstration and hands-on workshop exploring her contemporary appliqué practice. Drawing inspiration from everyday life, personal memories and the landscapes that surround us, Eleanor transforms reclaimed fabrics into richly layered textile artworks that celebrate place, heritage and lived experience.

1:15 PM - 4 PM

During the session, Eleanor will share her creative process, from gathering inspiration and selecting fabrics to composing and machine-stitching her distinctive appliqué pieces. Participants will then have the opportunity to create their own appliqué design using reclaimed fabrics before seeing how the pieces are brought together using a sewing machine. Whether you're a complete beginner or have sewing experience, the workshop can be adapted to suit all abilities, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and experiment with the process.

If you have a sewing machine, please feel free to bring it along.

This workshop and sharing is funded by our residency programme.
