Derelict buildings around a former stable block have been completely renovated to become our studio spaces. Six studios are set around the courtyard: Upper Powerhouse, Lower Powerhouse (currently our office), North and South Studios, the Tower and the Old Squash Court. Three of these studios are home to our Springboard Studio tenants. Current tenants are Weaver Scarlett Farrer, hand engraver Anna Olafsson and writer/illustrator Sara Rhys. You can contact them directly to buy or commission work or to arrange a studio visit.
A Springboard Studio holder is recruited via open call for 12 months free studio space and support as part of our creative campus. The other two studios are used for our fully funded residency programme which includes opportunities for visual artists, writers and performers. We hold two ‘Open Studio’ events every year, when the public can enjoy the outstanding work created in these spaces by our resident and visiting artists.
