While strolling through the serene atmosphere, Head Gardener Toby Loveday will guide you through the history of the gardens, from its role as a source of employment for the local community in the twentieth-century through its period of decline in the 1970s and 80s to its glorious restoration in 2017/2018 led by Hugo's vision. Toby will also discuss the garden team's plan for the space's future as a part of The Hugo Burge Foundation, and its new role as a source of creativity, inspiration, education and relaxation for residents and visitors alike.

You'll have the chance to explore a wide-variety of lush foliage and vibrant blooms, from flower-rich borders to fruit and vegetable patches.

The garden also boasts some of our most striking artworks, spanning from the 18th century to the present day. From living sculptures to an avenue of colonnades, visitors, whether art enthusiasts or garden lovers, will be captivated by the abundance of beauty on display.

Children under 12 and carers supporting the person they care for are free of charge on the garden tours.

Any profits go directly to supporting our charitable objectives.

Spend an evening in our Walled Gardens and Glasshouses.
